About The Project
International partners from the Northern Ireland, the Netherlands, Spain, Scotland and Finland, will collaborate ensuring the exchange of good practices. This will contribute to the professional development of staff implementing skills competition in the curriculum and to increase the attractiveness of VET.
In addition, the partners aim to develop the skills of VET teachers involved in skills competitions and to integrate these skills into the pedagogical approach and curriculum. Through integrating skills competition in VET learning, the appeal of VET to students will be greatly increased.
Skills Competition enables a work-relevant learning environment, it also promotes flexible learning and it encourages students to develop their skills such as entrepreneurship, creative thinking, communication methods, problem solving in their area of specialism.
Specific Objectives of The Project
To develop masterclasses via webinars on professional development of VET teachers who are organising skills competitions.
To develop a policy document on implementing skills in the curriculum, To broaden the amount of vocational fields being involved in skills.
To develop guidelines for successful training program for students participating in skills, including an experience of learning abroad.
To establish constructive links with stakeholders in organising skills in VET schools.
To develop a skills competitions good practice handbook based on Learning from each other’s best practices and tested tools.
To develop a sustainable partnership of VET schools aiming to support the arrangements for preparation, training and participation of VET learners in skills competition, including developing a close cooperation with business, other VET schools and stakeholders.
